Happy Valentine’s Day!
This Valentine’s Day I am feeling more pressure than usual. Of course the pressure that I feel is put on by myself! Ninja and I have never been big on Valentine’s Day. Every once in a while, we do something spectacular for each other, but over the years our grand gestures of affection have taken a backseat to Kids, daily life, and honestly, MS. There is nothing sexy or romantic about how MS makes me feel. The majority of my days are spent willing myself to get out of bed, let alone doing my hair, makeup, and putting on spanks for a hot night out on the town. I go to sleep early while Ninja is still getting the Kids down and prepping for the next day. He gets up early to get the Kids to school while I spend the first half of my day, feeling out my body for aches, pains, and numbness. I haven’t driven myself anywhere in weeks let alone to the store to buy a romantic gift to show my love and appreciation to the Man who tenderly takes care of us. The Man who brings me coffee every single morning and gives me a kiss on the forehead. The Man that brings me home flowers on a regular basis, brings me up a reading cushion, so that I can sit outside in the sunshine while he runs Kids back-and-forth to activities. The Man that finds us fun things to do in a 2 hour time span knowing that’s my window of opportunity. The Man that cooks us dinner every night while I shout from my bed about advantageous photo opportunities while he is whisking a roux. A year ago he didn’t even know what a roux was! Lol
Doing this blog has always been my thing. My entertainment, my outlet, my joy. But, Ninja has worked really hard to keep my blog going and allowing me to continue to have this outlet. Honestly, it’s been very frustrating since I changed blog hosts because I used to have thousands of readers but since we have updated the blog, it’s been hard to get 50 readers a post! The numbers have never meant anything to me, but to see such a drastic drop has been very disheartening. Also, I finally received my first check from Amazon, it wasn’t much,
but it will allow me to pay for my new blog site! At least for a year subscription lol but without viewers, it’s hard to make money off of this platform that I love so much. Ninja has been so supportive! Reminding me that I just need to rebuild my viewership, and that he is right beside me every step of the way. Working on my happiness. If you want to help us, you can! Just share this post! Pin the cocktails! Send it to a friend. Comment on posts! Sharing is caring. Thank you my Friends!
I wish just saying thank you was enough to show Ninja how much I love him and truly appreciate him. I remember feeling this way after I had HBear. I felt so helpless. It was Christmas, I was a mess of first time Momminess and breastmilk lol Ninja was doing everything for us and I hadn’t left the house in months. I remember being so upset that I would be unable to show Ninja how happy I was and how much I loved him that Christmas and Valentine’s Day. I wasn’t working at that time either being on mat. leave and baby brain is almost as bad as MS brain for great ideas and creative ways to show your love. I remember my Mom telling me that, sometimes marriage was like that. A good marriage will last forever, and there will be ups and downs. Times when I am not fully able to show my love and gratitude and times when he would feel the same way. Sometimes love isn’t met in the middle sometimes, one partner gives more and other times it’s the other partner that shows up in extraordinary ways. There will be a time when I am strong and he needs my love to get him through the day. And I will be ready.
Happy Valentine’s Day Ninja. Thank you. My cup runneth over, I’ll never get my fill.
Every Valentine’s Day I get the Kids new books! This year is no different! HBear has been in a little bit of a reading slump lately, so I got a new book, Going Bicoastal in HB‘s favourite genre, 2SLGBTQ+. I can’t wait to read this cute young adult romance, when she is done! SBean is a little easier, she is a reading machine. She especially loves historical fiction and has a thing for stories about the Titanic lol. Pretty much exactly where I was in grade 6 too! I got her 2 books to devour, Iceberg, and It All Comes Down To This is based in her favourite historical era, the 1960s/70s! Yes, you read that right Lol. You can check them out below and I have linked them to my affiliated Amazon account if anybody would like to purchase!
Check out the latest episode of How Was Your Week, Honey? Episode #367: Breaking Up. This week, we take a break during the Big Game to discuss: the weather (again), name changes, Champagne float, Super Bowl LVIII, Taylor, listener email, SOW, the Grammy’s, and the Rock ‘n Roll Hall Of Fame.
Ninja and I have been taste testing Valentine cocktails for the past 2 months so that we can share our very favourites with you all! For these cocktails Ninja only made one special simple syrup, but used different spirits and fruits to make 7 completely different, but equally spectacular cocktails for you and your special someone.

This week I continued my Plank Challenge! I am listening to the Eras Tour setlist as I plank to learn Taylor Swift’s back catalogue (SBean’s idea lol). The weather was bonkers again this week (because climate change and all), I read a few fantastic books and I cleaned the kitchen. This weekend SBean had her 2nd gymnastics competition in Kelowna. She didn’t get the scores she wanted last time so this time she worked harder and did SO much better! She got 10th on bars, 8th on vault, 7th on beam and 2nd on the floor! She received 9th overall and her team received 3rd overall! She also received the Amazing Artistry Award, an individual award for her floor routine out of the WHOLE Silver Session! Super proud of the hard work she put in to reach her goal of hitting the podium! After receiving a bronze medal last year and a silver this week, she is now itching for a gold medal! On Sunday we watched the 3rd and 4th lol round of the WM Phoenix Open and watched our Canadian, Nick Taylor WIN and then we watched the Super Bowl and watched Taylor’s boyfriend WIN! It was a pretty darn good week!
