Dude! It was my WpgBesty’s 40th birthday this week and I don’t know where to start. There are so many things I’d like to say but I literally could not fit 35 years into 1 blog post.
Since the moment we got sent to the corner together, we were KD, Iām the Kraft and she’s the Dinner. She is an amazing person. One thing that has always amazed me is her unconditional form of giving. She has gone through so much in her 40 years and she taught me to take what life gives me with grace, compassion and with a smile (even if itās forced).
Everywhere she goes, she lights up the room. She is thoughtful, compassionate, and everyone likes her. She is impossible not to like.
I think we could have our own show, and honestly, I think people would watch it. Because we’re the kind of people that laugh so hard we start to cry or stop breathing (horse laugh LOL). We have our own jokes (divisibility), our own routine, our own language – I get her. She understands me. We understand each other.
Now we are Moms and I look to her for guidance and advice. She is such an amazing Mom and the love she has for her Girls gives me a whole new level of respect for her. The Mother that she has become is such an inspiration and the Wife she is, is the kind of wife I strive to be. When I see BBear & HBear together and their special bond, it makes me realize that what we have is so special our children feel it too.
Living 3 provinces apart has provided us with new challenges. We might be busy with kids, work, commitments and relationships, but we always have time for each other when there’s a minute to breathe.
They say you don’t get to pick who you’re related to. That’s true. But you do get to pick who your family is. Your real family. She’ll always be my family. We’re as close as sisters, thicker than any thieves.
The truth is, she is my past, my present, and my future. I don’t think any of us are meant to walk this world alone and I’m so lucky it’s her that I get to have by my side on this journey.
Friendship is one of the most rewarding things life has to offer and I refuse to take it for granted. I refuse to take HER for granted. Even when all I can see is the worst in me, she still sees the best. She reminds me who I am, and who I want to be. And while the world might tremble at the sight of the two of us (because honestly, together we’re a force to be reckoned with) I know there’s no one I’d rather laugh and cry with.
I am so thankful to have her in my life.
We met on the 1st day of kindergarten. When all the other kids wanted to do show and tell, we wanted to play Hot Potato… we bonded while being punished in the corner š.
We got an apartment together after high school, met our future husbands and travelled all over together,
I moved to BC but that didn’t end our friendship! We try to meet up in the summer in Winnipeg, Calgary or Penticton!

It is still cold here. I was craving chicken noodle soup so badly the other day but, everyone knows it takes hours to make homemade chicken noodle soup. Or does it? This soup was DAMN delicious and I made it in under 30 minutes! By using a rotisserie chicken from Superstore, Campbells Chicken Stock and some fresh ingredients I had on hand. You could just as easily use dry thyme if that’s what you have at home.
30 Minute Chicken Noodle Soup
1 small white onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
9 cups chicken broth
2 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
10 ounces egg noodles
2 carrots, diced
1 bay leaf
6 sprigs of thyme, chopped
freshly chopped parsley (garnish)
In a large pot add the butter and melt over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and the foaming subsides, add the onion and celery and cook until just tender and the onion is translucent about 5-6 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the chicken broth to the pot, followed by the chicken, noodles, carrots, bay leaf, thyme and season with salt and pepper. Give everything a stir, increase the heat to high and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf, and season the soup with salt and pepper to taste. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve.

I took the Girls to the local High School music production, Legally Blonde, for date night! It was incredible!
While HBear was at the bonspiel, Ninja, Dad, SBean and I went to Home Show. It was overwhelming! They had a great kid’s area and while we went to booths learning about heating and cooling systems, SBean had a blast!
We ended the week with a day of extra dance rehearsals to get ready for the upcoming Dance Competitions!
